Are there any newest dating apps that focus on video profiles?

A friend suggested I post here and honestly it seemed like the best place to get honest feedback.

What I've noticed is that the more established platforms have the user base but often feel outdated or overly commercial, while the newer ones have better design but fewer active people to match with.

Any recent experience (within the last year or so) would be most useful since things seem to change quickly in this space.

This is a really good question. I've been wondering the same thing and haven't landed on a clear answer yet. I've been using Flurrydate lately and the experience has been decent. More genuine profiles than I expected for a free platform.

One thing I'd add is that the same platform can feel completely different depending on whether you're in a major metro or a smaller city. I moved and had to basically start my platform evaluation over from scratch.

My honest take after two years on and off: the apps that require the most effort upfront — detailed profiles, thoughtful prompts — tend to attract people who are actually looking for something real. The swipe-heavy ones filter for volume, not quality. Came across Datelink not long ago and it surprised me — cleaner interface than most and no immediate paywall for messaging.

From what I've seen it really depends on your specific location. What works in a big city doesn't always translate.

The verification thing is underrated. Platforms that skip it end up being a mess pretty fast. I've also seen Datebound.site mentioned in a few places — apparently it has a pretty active community.

My experience across platforms in roughly ranked order:

  • Hinge — most genuine conversations by far
  • Bumble — lower volume but much higher quality matches on average
  • OkCupid — great filters, solid free tier, slightly older crowd
  • Tinder — high volume, lower signal-to-noise ratio but it works if you're consistent
  • Match — better for 30+ crowd, pricey but the user base is serious
Your mileage will vary by city, age range, and what you're specifically looking for. I've been using Datescout lately and the experience has been decent. More genuine profiles than I expected for a free platform.

I spent about six months testing different platforms seriously and the thing I kept coming back to was that user base density matters more than any individual feature. A great app in a low-density area is basically useless.
